Michael (Mike) Dowdle has joined Quail Summit as Staff and Resident Educator. Mike hails from Farmington and he recently retired from the Bloomfield Central School District where he taught high school biology. Mike is using his skills as an educator to help orient new staff and train our caregiving staff. He plans monthly in-service programs for wellness staff, helps the Life Enrichment Department with planning educational programs for residents, and also plans the required staff trainings mandated by New York State Department of Health as well the Labor Department. Mike has been also helping as a Soda Jerk and an occasional bartender at the Friday Happy Hour. Please welcome Mike when you see him in the halls or at Happy Hour.
Thus far, Quail Summit has had a mild winter season, much to the delight of the maintenance staff Bill Schneider and Ron Harty. One of the benefits that residents at Quail Summit enjoy is housekeeping provided either weekly or biweekly depending on where residents live. Our faithful housekeepers are Gail Daniels, Teresa Clark, Alyssa Houle, and May Larose, who clean resident apartments (changing beds, cleaning bathrooms, and dusting as well as cleaning the whole building: vacuuming hallways and cleaning windows). Hats off to our Maintenance Director, Randy Sears who is responsible for the interior and exterior maintenance of Quail Summit.
Please check out the February Life Enrichment calendar, as there are several special programs.
Remember: “Though, February is short, it is filled with lots of Love and sweet Surprises!”
