Greetings from Gloria

The last week of August was western week at Quail Summit. Residents and staff alike have said “what a fun week!” Residents dressed up in western clothes (shirts, hats, bandanas) and staff wore jeans. We had a visit with a pony, and lots of western music and food. Hats off to Wendy Ubbink and the Life Enrichment team for a job well done.

August swept in and brought at least one new face: Jackie VanNorman, RN., she joined the Quail Summit family as the Wellness Director. Jackie has over thirty- nine years of nursing and is a legal Nurse Consultant with nursing experience in a variety of settings including dementia and long-term care. QS is also pleased to announce the promotion of Becky Boylan from senior cook to interim Food Service Director.

While the leaves haven’t started to change color or to drop quite yet, fall is in the air with several cool mornings. September marks the return to school for teachers and grandchildren. It also returns to a daily routine after the fun lazy days of summer.  Routine and a regular schedule are welcomed by many after a hectic summer of visits from family, reunions, picnics, and day trips. Residents at Quail Summit will be busy planning for a holiday bazaar, enjoying scenic rides around the area and continuing with volunteer work in the community. Residents and staff will continue to promote and join in a variety of activities and experiences for all to enjoy, because Life is Rich at Quail Summit!

September marks the beginning of my forth year here at Quail Summit, I want to thank the residents and their families for enriching my life, it is indeed a pleasure to be a part of your lives.
