The signs of spring, extended daylight hours, warmer temperatures, and snow drops signal to residents and staff alike that spring is just around the corner. I am pleased to announce the appointment of Patricia (Patty) Bailey, BSN, RN., as the new Director of the Wellness Department. Patty comes to Quail Summit after recently moving back to the area, she has over thirty years of nursing experience in home care and long-term care. Patty’s responsibilities include supervision of the licensed practical nurses (LPN’s), medication assistants, and resident care aides assigned to both the Harbor and Village residents and providing health case management to Harbor and Village residents.
One of Quail Summit’s departments that is integral to the wellbeing of residents and staff is the Food Service Department under the leadership of Rebecca (Becky) Boylan. The cooks in the kitchen are: Patrick Tolbert, Helen Weed, Jesse White, and Tony Randall; dishwasher Cole Ruffalo, cleaner Melanie Jabbour, and our Estate servers: Rachel Boock, Rebecca Hudson, Macy Kisner, Lauren and Sophi LaBarge, Mellanie Laninson, Michelle Smith, Izzy Thompson, Nina Vaccaro, and Amanda Vitale. This department provides meals for the residents 3 times a day and caters to outside groups which meet at Quail Summit. The Food Service Department also works closely with Wellness Department and the consulting dietician Lynn Maloney ensuring that residents receive the diets prescribed by their doctors and the Life Enrichment Department with the planning and execution of special events and holiday celebrations.
The month of March is filled with holidays to celebrate, the major one is St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th and we will also enjoy the first day of spring on March 19th.
